Common questions
Money, Quotes and the $50 Off
Straight answers on what things cost and how the offers actually work.
How does the 10% seniors discount work?
Mention it when you book and it comes straight off your quote, on top of the $0 call-out fee. Nothing to fill in and nothing to prove over the phone.
Do prices change once you start?
No. We agree the price with you before any tool touches your drain, and that's the number on the invoice. If we find something extra once we're in there, we stop and quote it separately, you decide, nothing gets added without your say-so.
What does "$50 off when you book online" cover?
It's $50 off any blocked drain job booked through our website rather than by phone. You see the $50 taken off the quote itself, before you commit to anything.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
No. $0 call-out fee, every visit, whether it's a straightforward clear or something that needs a camera run first. You only pay for the work itself, and only once you've approved the amount.
Common questions
Licensed, Insured and Done Properly
The legal and licensing side of drain work, made plain.
Do wipes really block drains?
Yes, the "flushable" label doesn't mean much inside your pipe. They stay whole where toilet paper wouldn't, catch on a root or a shifted clay joint, and a blockage builds from there. Keep them in the bin.
What is an overflow relief gully and why does it matter?
It's the grated fitting set into the ground near your house, built to let sewage spill out onto the garden as a last resort rather than flood back through your bathroom. Seeing it overflow means the blockage is past the point a plunger will fix, and it's time to call us.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. NSW Plumbing Licence #275278C, Master Plumber accredited, with $20 million public liability cover behind every job. An apprentice never works your drain alone; a licensed plumber runs it.
What warranty do I get?
A lifetime labour warranty follows every job we do. Something goes wrong with our work later, we're back out, no charge and no argument, however long it's been.
Common questions
How Fast We Get to You
Response times, hours, and what actually happens once you call.
Are you really open 24/7?
Yes, every day of the year including weekends and public holidays. Ring at 3am and you'll get a plumber on the line, never a recorded menu.
What happens after I call?
We hear what's going on with your drain, send a plumber your way, and lock in the price on-site before a single tool comes out. Nothing about the next step is left vague.
How fast can you get here?
On-site in 30 minutes, guaranteed, once we've got your job locked in. That guarantee holds around Lane Cove whether it's peak hour on Epping Road or the middle of the night.
Do you work weekends and public holidays?
Yes. Blocked drains don't wait for business hours, so neither do we, including Christmas Day and long weekends.
Common questions
Local Answers for Lane Cove
The questions we get most from homeowners and renters around Lane Cove itself.
Do tree roots really get into pipes here?
Constantly. The heavy tree canopy and riverside reserves along the Lane Cove River push roots straight into older earthenware and clay drains. Once they're in, the blockage comes back unless the root itself is cleared, not just the clog.
Do you know Lane Cove's pipe stock?
We do. A lot of the suburb's houses date from the post-war building boom, when clay sewer pipes were standard, and those pipes crack and shift at the joints after decades in shale-derived soil. We know exactly what we're looking for before we run a camera.
Do you work on strata and apartment blocks?
Yes. The suburb has a large stock of flats built from the 1960s through the 1980s, and shared drain lines in those blocks need a plumber who understands strata approvals as well as the pipework.
Why do Lane Cove's older drains keep blocking?
Two things stack up here: clay pipes laid before 1940 that crack and joint-shift in shale-derived soil, and dense tree cover that sends roots straight into those cracks. Clear the pipe without addressing either and the same blockage is back within months.
